First it was baby formula - now it appears New Zealand-sourced Fonterra milk powder is also being sold online in China. Fonterra's general manager for marketing and innovation, Brett Charlton, said the company was aware of the unofficial online trade of its products in China.

Cheese Recall Impacts Target, Whole Foods and Others Thursday, January 14, 2010 (531 reads)
Minnesota-based manufacturer Parkers Farm, Inc is recalling several of its products because they may contain Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections. National markets that carry Parker Farm products -- including Shop Rite, Path Mark, Wal-Mart, Target, Price Chopper, and Whole Foods -- are being affected.

Dairy Trade Body says FDA Labeling Study is Too Narrow Wednesday, January 13, 2010 (302 reads)
The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) has criticized a planned Food and Drug Administration (FDA) study for allowing the nutrition labels on the front of package for not having a wide enough scope. Food manufacturers and retailers currently employ a wide variety of labeling systems and the FDA fears that these may often boil down to marketing exercises offering little meaningful information to consumers.
