Officials at Milbank, South Dakota’s Valley Queen Cheese say a two-year, $40 million expansion project likely will be completed in the coming months. The work began in the fall of 2007.

The project includes a new 80,000 square-foot warehouse addition and a new 12,000 square-foot dryer addition. Last year, Valley Queen processed more than 1 billion pounds of raw milk into 90 million pounds of cheese.
