 Milk Drinkers Increasingly Go Organic

Organic milk sales continue to rise in California. Final figures for 2008 show sales were almost 19 percent higher than the previous year. The two leading classes of milk that increased are whole milk and low-fat/light milk; both classes rose by about 21 percent.

Stores sold more than 32-million gallons of organic milk last year. Organic milk sales have increased every month since the California Department of Food and Agriculture started reporting them in 2006.
