Glanbia Expects 2010 Earnings Return of 8 Percent

International cheese and nutritional ingredients company Glanbia has said it expects a return to earnings growth in 2010 of 6 to 8 percent.

Following a difficult 2009 during which saw a downturn in global dairy markets, lower US cheese prices, and a general poor economic backdrop, the group said it expects an improvement in 2010. Despite such issues, the company said its Global Nutritionals division offset effect of lower US cheese prices.

Glanbia expects to announce 2009 full year results in early March 2010 for the year ended January 2, 2010, but early indications from the company indicate expectations of post tax net exceptional credit of approximately €17 million for the year.
