Study Shows Whey Protein Used as an Aid for Weight-Loss

A study published in The Journal of Nutrition found that overweight and obese people who added whey, or milk, protein drinks to their diet were able to lose almost 2 pounds after six months, while those who drank carbohydrate shakes gained about 2 pounds and those who had soy shakes maintained their weight. Researchers found that the whey group had lower blood levels of the hormone ghrelin, which regulates food intake.
