Agropur To Focus On Export Markets With Purchase of M. Larivee International

Canadian co-op Agropur has purchased dairy products trader M. Larivee International as part of an effort to focus more on exports. "It will allow us, as a first step, to recreate the Agropur Export Group and develop international markets with our own product," Agropur Chairman Serge Riendeau said of the acquisition.

Fonterra Launches European Sourced Whey Protein

Fonterra, is partnering with European dairy companies to produce whey protein on the continent. New Zealand-based Fonterra, already a significant global supplier of whey protein ingredients, has invested in three partnerships in Europe: with First Milk in the United Kingdom; with Roki┼íkio in Lithuania; and with A-ware Food Group in the Netherlands. Fonterra’s European sourced whey offerings will be marketed under the name NZMPTM europro.
