Hilmar Cheese To Complete $200M Expansion This Year

Hilmar Cheese will complete the second phase of a $200 million expansion project this year at its Dalhart, Texas, plant, where the company manufactures cheese and whey products. The two-part project has already improved water conservation and recycling systems, added milk storage and receiving bays, expanded whey production from four to nine varieties, and installed a Union Pacific rail line. This year the company expects to finish adding capacity to produce and package 40-pound blocks of natural American-style cheese.
