Danone to Invest €240 Million in New Production Plant

Danone plans to invest €240 million in a new state-of-the-art facility which will be built in Cuijk in the Netherlands. With this investment, Danone will capitalize on demand for its international early life nutrition brands, including Aptamil and Nutrilon, for both standard and specialized products. Production is slated to begin in late 2017.

Fonterra Australia to Invest $141 Million in State-Of-The-Art Cheese Plant

Fonterra Australia will invest NZ$141 million in building a state-of-the-art cheese plant at its Stanhope factory. The new facility will replace the hard cheese plant, which was destroyed by fire in December 2014, with a larger, modern facility that will produce cheeses for Australian consumer, foodservice and export markets.

PS International Has Merged With Interra International

Interra International, Inc. and PS International, LTD, a subsidiary of Seaboard Corporation, have agreed to combine their respective businesses into one company. The resulting entity, Interra International, LLC, will include all of Interra’s meat and poultry businesses, as well as Interra Food Marketing, LLC, a subsidiary delivering consumer packaged goods to the US grocery industry, and PS International’s dairy, rice, sugar, protein, nut and other commodity business units. The company will serve the supply chain needs of processors, wholesalers, food service and retail customers in over 100 countries. Interra International, LLC begins operations November 2, 2015.
