High Desert Milk was formed in 2001 by six dairymen in the Mini-Cassia area in Idaho as a milk cooperative. In 2008, they built their first plant, which currently manufactures Nonfat Dry Milk, Skim Milk Powder, Buttermilk Powder and Cream. Plant capacity is 2.3 million pounds per day; processed into over 200,000 lbs. of powder per day. In October 2012 the next phase of construction is underway with the addition of a butter facility. High Desert Milk processes powders for domestic and export markets, with the ability to deliver Low, Medium and High Heat products that are both heat stable and low therm spore.
