 Cheese and Butter Stocks Decline During October  

The latest USDA Cold Storage report shows that stocks of natural cheese and butter declined during October 2012.

Cheese stocks which were reduced by 4% during the month of October are now 6% lower than they were a year ago. Cheese stocks in the East North Central region which includes the states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio declined by the greatest volume during October.

Butter stocks were drastically reduced in October, with stock levels falling by 26%. However, 145 million pounds of butter remained in stock as at the end of October which was still 11% more than 2011.
