Fonterra to offer more AMF and less WMP than forecast at June 6 GlobalDairyTrade Auction

Fonterra will offer less whole milk powder (WMP) and more anhydrous milkfat (AMF) than previously forecast at the upcoming June 6 GlobalDairyTrade auction. Volume of skim milk powder (SMP) offered will be the same as forecast.

The June 6 auction will feature less SMP offered compared to the previous auction. The distribution of SMP volume offered across delivery dates has evened out from last auction where two thirds of total volume was offered in the nearby contract 2.

WMP volume offered on June 6 decreased overall from previously forecast, with volume for contracts with delivery in July halved, and those for later delivery increased in November and decreased in December.

Above forecast AMF volumes offered on June 6 will be for contracts with delivery on August to October.

For the next 12 months, Fonterra’s forecast total supply for all products has increased by 4.1%. As with the previous revision, most of the increased forecast volume is of WMP. Forecast volumes for all product except AMF have increased.
