DSI Announces Partnership with Cornell University

Data Specialists Inc (DSI) is proud to announce an exciting partnership with Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.   As part of this project, Data Specialists has donated their dairy procurement and manufacturing software for use in Cornell University’s Stocking Hall.  This recently renovated dairy facility is one of the premier dairy food science programs in the world.  The facility is home to Cornell’s top-ranked Food Science programs, their students and faculty, and also countless research projects, training classes and seminars supporting the dairy industry across the globe.

“We feel privileged for the chance to be able to give back to the industry and provide the university the ability to use software that is being used in facilities across the country.  Cornell’s position within the dairy community is highly regarded and we’re very excited for the opportunity to work with a prestigious educational and research community,” said Ryan Mertes, President of DSI.

Jason Huck, the manager of Cornell’s dairy operations said, “The Cornell Dairy is excited to partner with DSI on this project which will further enhance our manufacturing management capabilities, but more importantly provide a key resource for training our students.” The project will feature DSI’s software modules from receiving through production and distribution to their various facilities around campus, including their famous dairy bar.

Cornell’s plant staff as well as their students will have full traceability of all of their ingredients as they produce fluid milk, yogurt and ice cream for their fellow students. Students will also gain the ability to hone in on plant shrink, mock recalls, and various other real world scenarios.
