  O-AT-KA Milk Products Cooperative To Expand With New Warehouse and Equipment Room  

Empire State Development  has announced a warehouse expansion of the O-AT-KA Milk Products Cooperative Inc. in Batavia, New York.


The dairy cooperative, which is majority-owned by the Buffalo-based Upstate Niagara Cooperative Inc. and Dairy Farmers of America, will expand its warehouse and material handling function at the Batavia site, according to a news release. O-AT-KA helps ensure there's a market for milk produced by more than 400 farms throughout western and central New York.

Empire State Development, which is New York's economic development agency, announced Thursday that the state will provide a $400,000 capital grant for O-AT-KA to build a 195,000-square-foot warehouse and a 35,000-square-foot equipment room attached to its existing facility.

According to Empire State Development, O-AT-KA, is the top manufacturing employer in Batavia with more than 330 employees. The cooperative, which produces dry, condensed and evaporated dairy products, was established in 1959.
