 Nick Vanderkolk Appointed Managing Director of HighGround Dairy Asia-Pacific  

Continuing the ongoing investment in the development and growth of global dairy markets, HighGround is pleased to announce that Nick Vanderkolk will be joining the team from December 1st 2015 in the position of Managing Director, HighGround Dairy Asia Pacific, based in the newly established Singapore office.

 

Nick will be joining HighGround from Fonterra’s Commodity Risk and Trading team, having spent the past three years working closely with dairy buyers in the South East Asia, Japan, and China markets with their over-the-counter risk management requirements. Prior to this, Nick worked within the Fonterra Global Ingredients function managing supply relationships with New Zealand based exporters.


Nick’s specialty background with Fonterra, combined with three previous years in consulting and sales roles with IBM Global Business Services, provides a unique mix of skills to work directly with HighGround clients in assisting to understand and manage their dairy price risk exposures and grow their use of dairy risk management tools.


Nick commented, "It is becoming ever more critical that buyers and sellers of dairy product have strategies in place to manoeuvre the volatile nature of our markets, and due to the growth and expansion of the NZX, CME, and EEX financial markets, participants now have multiple options available to them. HighGround's model of education, market intelligence/analysis, hedge strategy development through to execution will serve well throughout Oceania & Asia and I am excited to lead in these regions."


Eric Meyer, president of HighGround Dairy based in Chicago also noted, "We are thrilled Nick will be joining the HighGround team as his market knowledge and past experience will be a valuable asset when working with companies in the region that have a desire to build and implement dairy price risk management programs."


Nick originally hails from the Manawatu region of New Zealand, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (Honours) from the University of Victoria in Wellington, with a particular thesis focus on the economics of cooperative structures.
