 Agropur Acquires Main Street Ingredients  

Canadian dairy co-operative Agropur has acquired U.S. food additive company Main Street Ingredients. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Quebec-based Agropur owns several Canadian dairy brands including Sealtest, Natrel, Quebon and Yoplait.

Main Street Ingredients has 185 employees and provides food additives like stabilizers and proteins as well as ingredient distribution services out of its offices in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

The U.S. company will keep its name and will be overseen by its current president, who will report to Agropur.

Agropur has $ 3.4 billion in annual sales and factories and distribution centres in Canada, the U.S. and Argentina.
